From Foundations to Frontiers in
Regional Anesthesia
Where practice begins — from principles to practice, complex clinical crossroads, and building safer RA systems.
Where the future takes shape — the future of perioperative pain, advanced techniques, and POCUS beyond the block.
Emerging is designed to bridge what every anesthesiologist must master today and what will define regional anesthesia tomorrow. Day 1, Foundations, moves from principles to practice, through complex clinical crossroads, to building safer regional anesthesia systems. Day 2, Frontiers, covers the future of perioperative pain medicine, advanced techniques for when Plan A is not enough, and POCUS beyond the block.
A pre-convention Advanced Clinical Masterclass on 21 January covers live neuraxial, paravertebral, and interventional pain management techniques. Hands-on workshops run each afternoon on two parallel tracks — Fundamentals for core regional anesthesia skills and Frontiers for advanced techniques and emerging applications. Everything runs in the Emerald Ballroom of the Limketkai Luxe Hotel, with the exhibit hall on the same floor.
Regarded as the guardian spirit of the Cagayan de Oro river, the Kugtong is described as a massive grouper with scales that shimmer like gold. The mythical fish symbolises the power, mystery, and life-giving importance of the river.
Cogie, the convention mascot, carries an ultrasound probe through the whitewater — the same instinct the programme asks of every delegate: read the current before you commit.
